Camshaft Bearings: Installation
- Using Camshaft Bearing Remover (J-6098), fasten nut and thrust washer to end of threads. Insert pilot in camshaft bearing and install puller screw through pilot.
- Insert bearing in bore with oil hole centered between 2 and 3 o'clock positions on rear and intermediate bearing. Front bearing has one oil hole at 11 o'clock and the other centered between 2 and 3 o'clock positions.
- Using additional wrench to hold puller screw stationary, turn nut until bearing is pulled into bore. Install remaining bearings in same manner. Ensure alignment holes are in proper positions.
- Apply RTV sealer to groove in engine block and to camshaft rear cover. Position camshaft cover on block, install retaining bolts and tighten. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation.
