Oil Pump: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable. Remove exhaust pipe shield. Raise vehicle and drain crankcase. Disconnect exhaust inlet pipe. Disconnect A/C brace at starter and A/C bracket (if equipped).
  2. Remove flywheel cover, starter bracket at block and starter. Raise and support vehicle. Remove right engine support bolts and lower support slightly.
  3. On models with A/T, remove oil filter and extension. On all models, remove oil pan and pan. Remove pump-to-rear main bearing cap bolt. Remove pump and extension shaft.
