Oil Pump: Installation

  1. Assemble pump and extension shaft with retainer to rear main bearing cap. Align top end of hexagonal extension shaft with hexagonal lower end of distributor drive gear. Align pump with 2 dowel pins at bottom of cap.
  2. Install pump to rear bearing cap retaining bolt and tighten. Install new oil pan gasket and oil pan. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation.
