Timing Belt Sprockets: Removal

  1. Remove front engine cover and timing belt. Align mark on camshaft sprocket with mark on camshaft carrier. Remove timing probe holder.
  2. Loosen water pump retaining bolt and remove timing belt from camshaft sprocket. Remove camshaft carrier cover. Hold camshaft at space provided near rear of camshaft.
  3. Remove camshaft sprocket retaining bolt, washer and camshaft sprocket. Remove crankshaft retaining bolt and thrust washer. Remove crankshaft sprocket.
