Fitting Pistons

  1. Measure cylinder bore diameter. Measure piston diameter 90° from piston pin and 2.36" (60 mm) from top of piston.
  2. Subtract piston diameter from cylinder bore diameter to obtain clearance. If clearance is excessive, piston should be replaced.
  3. Oversize pistons are available in .020" (.50 mm) oversize. Measure new piston and hone cylinder to correct clearance.
