Fuel Gauge

  1. With ignition switch in "OFF" position, disconnect sender wire (Pink) in rear compartment. Turn ignition to "ON" position. Gauge should read past "FULL".
  2. Use a jumper wire to short body side of harness connector to ground. Gauge should read past the "E" mark.
  3. If steps 1) and 2) are okay, trouble is in the sending unit or wiring connector at tank. If steps 1) and 2) are not okay, remove gauge from cluster and reconnect wire in rear compartment.
  4. Check the 3 terminals on the back of the gauge. With ignition in "ON" position, one should have 12 volts, one grounded, and the other measure from 0 to 90 ohms. If all check okay, replace gauge. If not, repair wiring to gauge.
