Piston & Rod Assembly: Removal
- With cylinder head and oil pan removed, use a ridge reamer to remove any ridge or deposits on upper end of cylinder bore.NOTE: Piston must be at bottom of stroke and covered with cloth to collect cuttings.
- Inspect rods and caps for cylinder identification and mark as necessary. Remove rod cap and cover studs with rubber tubing to protect crankshaft and cylinder walls.
- Carefully push piston and rod assembly out top of cylinder block.
