Removal & Installation
- Raise and support vehicle. Back off brake adjuster if necessary. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove brake drum retaining clips (if equipped). Remove the brake drum. Remove automatic adjuster lever spring. Remove 2 hold-down clips and pins. Remove lower shoe return spring.
- Remove parking brake lever pin from rear shoe retaining clip. Remove both shoes, upper return spring and adjuster screw as an assembly.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lubricate shoe contact area on backing plate with high temperature brake lubricant.
