Ignition Switch

  1. Remove instrument panel knee protector and steering column covers. Disconnect wiring connectors from ignition switch. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity at switch side of connector. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . See IGNITION SWITCH CONTINUITY  and IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT FUNCTIONS  tables.
  2. Operate ignition switch while checking continuity between terminals. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . Replace ignition switch assembly if continuity is not as specified.
