Propeller Shaft (Drive Shaft): Installation

1. Verify transaxle is pushed rearward as far as possible. Position front of propeller shaft to front drive flange pilot. Keep propeller shaft on a level plane.
   CAUTION: DO NOT try to install the propeller shaft unless it has cleared the drive flange pilots completely. DO NOT angle the shaft upward. Damage to the inner bushings will result.
2. Insert front of propeller shaft into front bell housing flange pilot. Position rear of propeller shaft to rear drive flange pilot. Insert rear of shaft over drive flange pilot. Carefully slide transaxle forward to retain shaft. Align drive flanges to couplers at marks made during removal. Install retaining bolts. Tighten bolts to 70 ft. lbs.
3. Install exhaust system and hangers. Install exhaust brackets at engine bell housing. Lower transmission into position. Install front transmission mount. Install rear transmission mount. Install electrical connectors at transmission. Install gearshift cable to manual valve lever.
4. Connect transmission cooler lines at transmission. Install transmission cooler and bracket. Lower vehicle. Connect battery negative cable.
