Transaxle Bell Housing: Notes

The transaxle bell housing is an all aluminum design with a long input shaft supported by tapered roller bearings at each end. The bell housing acts as a coupling device for propeller shaft and transaxle. The bell houses drive flange, shaft, bearings and flex plate. The bell housing bearings are lubricated with SAE 5w30 engine oil. Bearing preload is set and maintained by use of a collapsible spacer.
