Remote CD Changer Test - CD Changer Inoperative

  1. The CD changer receivers its power and ground through radio via DIN connector. Verify that radio powers up and functions before proceeding.
  2. With radio turned ON, check radio display when pushing MODE/EJECT button to select CD mode.
    • If display shows - - - -, then insert a CD magazine in changer.
    • If display shows NO CD, then insert a CD into magazine.
    • If display shows Err xxxx, then check error message table below.
    • If radio only switches between AM and FM turning modes, go to next step.
  3. Check connection of DIN cable to CD changer and radio. Check DIN cable disconnect located at right side of cowl attached to main harness.
  4. If OK, then check DIN cable at CD changer side.
  5. Make sure DIN cable is connected to radio and radio is turned ON and operating. Check for battery voltage at Pins 6 and 7 using Pin 8 for ground. See Fig 1 , and DIN CABLE CONNECTOR PIN CALL-OUT  .
  6. If OK, then replace CD changer.
  7. If not OK, then remove DIN cable from radio changer. Check DIN cable for continuity from connector to connector, using an ohmmeter on each pin.
  8. If DIN cable OK, then replace radio.

ERR HOT Player Overheating Allow To Cool Down
ERR EE EE Communication Problem Turn Ignition OFF. To Reset, Check Cable Connection. If OK, Replace Changer.
ERR E-01 Deadlock Problem Replace Changer
ERR E-02 Disc Eject Problem Replace Changer
ERR E-06 Elevator Problem Replace Changer
ERR E-07 Magazine Eject Problem Ensure Magazine Is OK. If OK, Replace Changer.
ERR PLAY Discs Do Not Play Check Disc Loading, Or Try Another Disc. If OK, Replace Changer.
