Shock Absorber: Removal
- Raise vehicle on jackstand or centered on a frame contact type hoist.
- Remove center cap from wheel. Center cap is removed by inserting a trim stick into notch on center cap and prying it off wheel. See Figure .
- Remove tire and wheel assembly.
- Remove nut and bolt mounting shock absorber clevis to mounting bracket/isolator on lower control arm. See Figure .
- Remove bolt and nut attaching shock absorber to frame bracket. See Figure .
- Remove shock absorber/coil spring assembly from vehicle.
NOTE:
When removing center cap from wheel do not use sharp or hard tool. Use of such a tool can mare finish on wheel and damage center cap.
