Stabilizer Bar Attaching Links
NOTE:
DO NOT attempt to repair a stabilizer bar attaching link.
Inspect for broken or distorted stabilizer bar bushings, bushing retainers, and worn or damaged stabilizer bar links. If stabilizer bar to frame rail busing replacement is required, the bushings can be removed from the stabilizer bar by opening the preformed split in the bushing and peeling the bushing off of the stabilizer bar. inspect the stabilizer bar links for any of the conditions which are listed below. If any of these conditions are found, replacement will be required:
- Inspect attaching links for any bending of the center section of the link.
- Inspect attaching link bushings for end play or excessive looseness. If any of these conditions are found attaching link will need to be replaced.
- Check attaching link mounting points at stabilizer bar and lower control arm to ensure mounting nuts are tight. If required tighten nuts to specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
