Lower Ball Joint Wear Inspection: Notes

The rear lower ball joint used on this vehicle is designed to operate with no free play of stud in ball joint housing. Ball joint replacement is necessary if more than .02" (0.51 mm) lateral end play ball joint stud exists.

The rear lower ball joint is pressed into lower control arm. If it is determined during wear inspection procedure on lower ball joint that ball joint is worn to a point requiring its replacement complete lower control arm must be replaced. DO NOT attempt to replace only ball joint.
