Coil Springs

Coil springs used on this vehicle are rated separately for front and rear of vehicle. See Figure . If a coil spring requires replacement, ensure spring needing replacement, is replaced with a spring meeting correct load rating and spring rate for position on vehicle it will be used. During any service procedure that requires both front and rear springs to be removed from shock absorbers, mark springs showing which and side of vehicle they were removed from to ensure installation in original position.

Coil spring used in this vehicle have a special powder coating applied to them. The coating protects surface of spring from corrosion and other damage. When installing a coil spring on a shock absorber, round end coil must be installed on spring seat of shock absorber with flat end coil against upper spring retainer. See Figure .
