Passenger Air Bag On/Off Switch (1999-2001)

WARNING: The key must always be removed from passenger Air Bag on/off switch key cylinder after switch has been used. Never leave a key in passenger Air Bag on/off switch key cylinder.

WARNING: In event of an Air Bag deployment, passenger Air Bag on/off switch "must" be replaced.

A Passenger Air Bag ON/OFF Switch located in right instrument panel end cap, allows passenger side Air Bag module to be disabled when certain child restraint devices are being used in right seating position. The passenger Air Bag ON/OFF switch is equipped with a key cylinder so that switch position can only be changed using an ignition key. When ignition switch is in ON position and passenger side Air Bag is disabled, a Light-Emitting Diode (LED) illuminates a PASS Air Bag OFF indicator lamp in instrument cluster.

To actuate passenger Air Bag ON/OFF switch, open passenger door, insert ignition key in switch key cylinder. The switch key cylinder is then rotated with ignition key to its clockwise stop (the key cylinder slot will be aligned with OFF label on instrument panel end cap) to disable passenger side Air Bag. When passenger Air Bag ON/OFF switch key cylinder is rotated with ignition key to its counterclockwise stop (the key cylinder slot will be in a vertical position), instrument cluster indicator lamp will be extinguished and passenger side Air Bag module will once again be enabled.

The passenger Air Bag ON/OFF switch cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if faulty or damaged, switch assembly MUST be replaced.
