Park Brake Shoes: Installation

Assemble upper return spring to park brake shoes with park brake shoes off vehicle. Install park brake shoes and upper return spring as an assembly on caliper adapter. See Figure . Install hold down clip on each park brake shoe. See Figure . Install adjuster at bottom of park brake shoes. See Figure . Install lower return spring on park brake shoes. See Figure . Adjust park brake shoes to a diameter of 194 mm (7.50"). Install brake rotor on hub bearing.
Install disc brake caliper on caliper adapter, reversing removal procedure. See Figure . Install disc brake caliper to caliper adapter mounting bolts. See Figure . Tighten mounting bolts to 55 N.m (40 ft. lbs.). Install wheels and tires. Tighten wheel mounting nuts in proper sequence until all nuts are torqued to half specification. Then repeat tightening sequence to full specified torque of 122 N.m (90 ft. lbs.). Install center cap on wheel. Road test vehicle and test for proper operation of park brakes.
