Combination Valve: Removal

  1. Using a brake pedal depressor, move and lock brake pedal to a position past its first 1 inch of travel. This will prevent brake fluid from draining out of master cylinder when brake tubes are removed from combination valve. Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a hoist.
    CAUTION: Before removing brake tubes from combination valve, combination valve and brake tubes must be thoroughly cleaned. This is required to prevent contamination from entering brake hydraulic system.
  2. Remove wiring harness connector from brake warning lamp switch located on combination valve. See Fig 1 . Remove 5 chassis brake tubes from combination valve. Remove bolt attaching combination valve mounting bracket to frame rail.
