Master Cylinder Removal

NOTE: It is not necessary to bleed entire hydraulic system after replacing master cylinder fluid reservoir, providing that master cylinder has been filled and bled prior to installation.
  1. Attach Bleeding Tubes (Special Tool 8129) to master cylinder. See Fig 8 . Position bleeding tubes so outlets will be below surface of brake fluid when fluid reservoir is filled to proper level. Fill fluid reservoir to proper level with brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 specifications such as Mopar or Equivalent.
  2. Using a wooden dowel, slowly depress piston of master cylinder until it has bottomed in master cylinder then allow piston to return to released position. Repeat this step several times until no more air bubbles are expelled from bleeding tubes. Remove bleeding tubes from master cylinder. Plug output ports of master cylinder and install cap on fluid reservoir. Install master cylinder on vacuum booster.
