One Window Inoperative

  1. Check inoperative window switch as described in Window Switch Test below. If OK perform Window Motor Test below. Repair as necessary.
  2. Ensure that window glass is free to slide up and down for power window motor to function properly. If glass is not free to move up and down, motor will overload and trip integral circuit breaker. To determine if glass is free, disconnect regulator plate from glass. Then slide window up and down by hand.

There is an alternate method to check if glass is free. Position glass between up and down stops. Then, shake glass in door. Check that glass can be moved slightly from side to side, front to rear, and up and down. Then check that glass is not bound tight in tracks. If glass is free, proceed with diagnosis that follows.
