Removal & Installation: Camshafts: Inspection

Measure camshaft journal diameter and lobe height. See CAMSHAFT  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Replace camshaft if not within specification. Inspect all contact surfaces for wear.



  1. Inspect rocker arms and shafts for wear and damage. Check distributor drive gear for tooth damage and wear. Replace components as necessary.
  2. Check camshaft journal diameter and lobe height. Replace camshaft if journal diameter and lobe height are not within specification. See CAMSHAFT  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
