Valve Springs

Inspect valve spring free length and out-of-square. Replace valve spring if free length and out-of-square are not within specification. See VALVES & VALVE SPRINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article. Install valve springs with enamel-coated end toward valve spring retainer.

CAUTION: Install oil seal using seal installer to provide proper positioning and prevent oil leakage into valve guide.
