Rear Brake Caliper & Pads: Installation

  1. Clean and lubricate caliper sliding contact areas. Install new disc pads. Carefully place caliper over disc and pads. Lower end must be installed first. Install anti-rattle clip through top opening in caliper.
  2. Drive disc pad retainer pin through caliper and disc pads. Push down caliper assembly and tighten upper and lower caliper mounting bolts. Install wheels and tires. Pump brakes and ensure pedal is firm. Road test and check for leaks.


  1. Compress piston to bottom of bore. Install inboard disc pad into caliper piston. Install outboard pad on adapter.
  2. Carefully lower the caliper over the disc and outboard pad. Install the guide pins and tighten to specification. Refer to the TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Pump brakes to ensure pedal is firm. Road test and check for leaks.
