Power Brake Booster: Removal

  1. Disconnect vehicle battery. Disconnect vacuum hose at power brake unit check valve (DO NOT  remove check valve from power brake unit). Remove throttle cable retaining clip and move cable aside.
  2. Disconnect intake hose at air cleaner and throttle body. Move hose aside for access. Remove master cylinder, proportioning valve and valve bracket. Remove bolt, nuts, spacers and bushings attaching power brake unit push rod to brake pedal.
  3. Discard 2 push rod bolt nuts. Remove power brake unit-to-brake pedal bracket and dash nuts. Remove power brake unit from engine compartment.
