Removal (Kelsey-Hayes Double-Pin Non-Family Caliper)

  1. Raise vehicle on jackstands, or center on hoist. Remove front wheel and tire assemblies. Remove caliper-to-knuckle guide pin bolts. Pull lower end of caliper out from machined abutment on steering knuckle, and roll caliper out and away from brake disc. The shoe assemblies will remain with caliper.
  2. Remove outboard shoe by prying between shoe and caliper assembly. Remove inboard shoe by pulling shoe and lining assembly away from piston.
