Latching & Non-Latching Faults

Some faults detected by CAB are "latching", meaning the fault is set and ABS is disabled until ignition switch is reset. ABS is disabled even if the original fault has disappeared.
Other faults are "non-latching". Any illuminated warning lights are only illuminated as long as the fault condition exists. As soon as the condition does not exist, the light(s) are turned off, although a fault code will be set in most cases. See ABS SYSTEM FAULT MESSAGES TABLE.
