Axle Hub Bearings: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove Wheel. On vehicles with rear disc brakes, remove caliper and disc. Tie caliper aside.
  2. Remove grease cap, cotter pin, nut lock, and adjusting nut. Remove washer and outer bearing.
  3. Remove drum or hub from spindle. Remove grease seal and inner bearing from hub or drum.
  4. Remove bearing races using brass drift.
