Except AG & AJ Bodies

  1. Headlight switch must be removed for testing purposes. Before removing switch from instrument panel, check all related fuses and relays. Check dimmer switch for proper operation.
  2. Remove headlight switch from instrument panel. See HEADLIGHT SWITCH R & I  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Using ohmmeter, probe headlight switch terminals and check for continuity when switch is placed in specified position. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Refer to the appropriate HEADLIGHT SWITCH TERMINAL CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONS  tables.
  4. If switch continuity does not exist as specified in table, replace headlight switch. If switch continuity is good, check related relays and wiring. Relays are located in relay block. See RELAY BLOCK LOCATION table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article.
