Suspension - Rear: Description
Rear suspension consists of an axle crossmember with a trailing arm attached to each end. See Fig 1. Trailing arms pivot mounting bolts which attach the axle crossmember to the body. A bushing is press-fit into pivot end of each trailing arm.
A lateral rod prevents side-to-side movement of the axle assembly, attached between left end of axle crossmember and right side of body pan. Strut assemblies are mounted between the axle assembly and body. A wheel hub, containing a sealed bearing, is fastened to a spindle at each end of axle assembly. See Fig 2.
