Lash Adjuster
NOTE:
Check lash adjuster operation before removing rocker arms. Perform check procedure with engine at normal operating temperature.
- To check lash adjuster operation, warm engine to normal operating temperature. Turn engine off. Remove valve cover. Press downward on area of rocker arm contacting lash adjuster.
- If firm pressure if felt, lash adjuster is okay. If rocker arm depresses all the way down, replace lash adjuster. If spongy feeling exists, air probably exists due to insufficient oil supply. Correct oil problem. Run engine to bleed air from lash adjuster.
