Cylinder Block

  1. Measure cylinder bore at the following places: .47" (11.9 mm) below top surface of cylinder bore, middle of bore and .47" (11.9 mm) from bottom of cylinder bore.
  2. Check cylinder block deck surface for warpage. Resurface cylinder block if warpage exceeds specification. See CYLINDER BLOCK  table in ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article. DO NOT  grind more than .008" (.20 mm) total from surface of cylinder head and deck surface of cylinder block. Ensure minimum deck height is within specification.
