Fuel, Temperature, Oil Pressure & Turbo Boost Gauges Test
- Before removing instrument panel to check fuel, temperature, oil pressure or turbo boost gauge, perform this test. Remove connector from gauge sending unit. Ground harness side of connector with 12-volt, 3.4-watt test light. Turn ignition on. Test light should come on and needle should move.
- If test light comes on but needle does not move, replace gauge. If test light does not come on and needle does not move, check for blown fuse No. 11. Also check for open circuit or excessive resistance between gauge terminals.
- To check for excessive resistance in gauge, remove instrument cluster to gain access to gauge. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . Remove B+ terminal screw from area "A" (on fuel and temperature gauges). See Fig 1 . On all gauges, use ohmmeter to measure resistance between terminals. Replace gauge if readings are not correct. See GAUGE RESISTANCE .
