Oil Pressure Gauge Test
- Disconnect oil pressure gauge wiring connector from sending unit inside the engine compartment. Connect a 12-volt test light between harness connector terminal and ground. Turn ignition on, but do not start engine. Test light should come on and gauge needle should move. If test light does not come on and gauge needle does not move, repair wiring to sending unit.
- If Test light comes on and gauge needle moves, remove instrument cluster from instrument panel and check continuity between terminals of oil pressure gauge. See INSTRUMENT PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. For location of Oil pressure gauge Test Terminals. See OIL PRESSURE GAUGE RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS . Also, see Fig 1 . If not within specification, replace the oil pressure gauge.
