Removal & Installation
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels. Remove brake fittings and retaining clips that hold flexible brake lines. Remove parking brake cable adjusting nut. Release both parking brake cables from the bracket. Pull parking brake cables through the bracket.
- Remove wheel bearing dust cap. Remove cotter pin, lock nut, adjusting nut, washer and outer wheel bearing. Remove brake drum assembly. Remove 4 brake assembly and spindle retaining bolts. Set spindle aside. Hang brake assembly out of the way using a piece of wire.
- Support rear axle assembly with jacks. Remove shock absorber lower mounting bolts. Remove trailing arm-to-hanger bracket mounting bolt. Lower jacks and remove rear axle assembly.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten mounting bolts to specification with weight of vehicle on the suspension. Bleed and adjust brakes.
