Intermediate Shaft: Removal

  1. Remove timing belt. See TIMING BELT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using Sprocket Holder (C-4687) with Adapter (C-4687-1), hold intermediate sprocket. See Figure. Note direction of sprocket offset for reassembly reference. Remove sprocket.
  2. Using Intermediate Shaft & Camshaft Seal Remover (C-4679), remove sprocket oil seals. See Figure. Remove intermediate shaft front seal retainer bolts, seal retainer and remove intermediate shaft. See Figure.
