Removal & Installation: Engine: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Align engine mounts and install. DO NOT  tighten mounting bolts until all mounting brackets and bolts have been installed. Check axle shaft length with damper weight removed. See Fig 1.

  2. Axle shaft length must be within specification. If axle shaft length requires adjustment, support engine/transaxle assembly with a floor jack. Loosen vertical bolts on engine mount near timing belt cover and front engine mount bracket-to-front crossmember fasteners. Pry engine right or left as required to obtain correct axle shaft length.
  3. Tighten mounting bolts and nuts to specification. Recheck axle shaft length. Install damper weight and tighten to specification (if equipped). Fill cooling system. Bleed air from cooling system by removing plug above thermostat housing. Reinstall plug when coolant level reaches plug opening.
