Cylinder Head: Inspection

Ensure cylinder head warpage does not exceed specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS  tables at end of article. If cylinder head or camshaft is serviced, ensure oversized camshaft is used in cylinder head with oversized bores. See CAMSHAFT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

CAUTION: Use correct head bolts when installing cylinder head. Head bolt diameter is 11 millimeters and can be identified by the "11" on the head of the bolt. The 10 millimeter bolt WILL thread into the 11 millimeter bolt hole, but will damage cylinder block if used.
NOTE: The 2.2L Turbo IV and 2.5L Turbo engines use the same head gasket. The head gasket is NOT the same as one used on the 2.2L Turbo I engines in prior years.
