Cylinder Head: Valves
- If more than .020" (.51 mm) is ground for tip of valve stem, check clearance between rocker arm ear and valve spring retainer. Clearance must be at least .050" (1.27 mm). If insufficient clearance exists, grind rocker arm ears to obtain correct clearance.
- Valves are available in .005" (.15 mm), .016" (.40 mm) and .031" (.80 mm) oversizes. Valve tip diameter should be no less than .275" (6.99 mm) after grinding. If necessary, tip chamfer should be reground to prevent seal damage when valve is installed.
