Rod Bearings

Prior to installing rod bearings, hold a straightedge across connecting rod bolts threads. Ensure threads contact straightedge in all areas. If threads fail to contact straightedge, rod bolts are stretched and must be replaced. Lightly coat connecting rod threads with engine oil prior to tightening nut to specification. Ensure connecting rod assembly is installed with oil hole facing toward timing belt.
