Piston Rings

  1. Ensure ring end gap and side clearances are within specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure No. 1 and No. 2 piston rings (marked "TOP") are installed in the proper direction.
  2. Position ring gaps in proper location. Oil ring rail gaps are installed 180 degrees apart from each other. See Fig 1.
