Removal & Disassembly

  1. Remove oil pan. Remove oil pick-up tube-to-oil pump bolt. Remove pick-up tube and "O" ring. Remove oil pump-to-cylinder block bolts. Remove oil pump.
  2. Remove oil pump cover-to-pump housing bolts. Remove pump cover. Remove inner and outer rotors. See Figure. Remove oil pressure relief valve pin, cup, spring and valve from oil pump housing. Clean all components in solvent and blow dry with compressed air.
NOTE: Large chamfer on oil pump outer rotor must be installed toward pump body.
