Drum Brake Shoes - MONACO & Premier: Installation

Lubricate all brake shoe contact points, adjusting assembly, parking brake lever and lever pivot pin. Remove retaining clamp from wheel cylinder. Install parking brake lever on secondary shoe.
Install washer and new clip on parking brake lever pivot pin and crimp ends of clip. Install rear brake shoe to support plate. Install hold down spring. Install adjuster screw and rear brake shoe making sure large notch on adjuster screw is fitted to brake shoe and small notch on adjuster screw is facing out.
Install adjuster lever to leading shoe adjuster lever pivot pin and fit adjuster lever into smallest of 2 notches on adjuster screw. Install upper spring. Center shoes on support plate. Install brake drum and hub assembly. Install new wheel bearing lock nut and lightly tighten. Adjust brakes. Tighten new wheel bearing lock nut to 123 ft. lbs. (167 N.m).
