Disc Brake Caliper & Pads - Rear (MONACO & Premier): Installation

  1. Reseat (bottom) caliper piston in caliper bore as follows. Remove rotor retaining nuts and rotor. Temporarily mount caliper on axle. Tighten caliper slide pins enough to hold caliper in place. Using Piston Spanner (6366), 3/8" drive extension and 7/16" deep socket, rotate piston clockwise until fully seated. See Fig 1.
  2. Remove caliper slide pins and caliper. Install rotor and retaining nuts. Position new brake pads in caliper. Rear disc pads are interchangeable.
  3. Carefully lower caliper over disc and outboard pad. Install guide pins and torque to specification. Pump brakes to ensure pedal is firm. Road test and check for leaks.
