A, C & Y Bodies

Distance sensor should be checked of distance sensor fault code and proper speed indication. See appropriate TESTS W/CODES in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
Remove speedometer. With ignition on, check battery voltage across (B+) and ground pin. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
Check for continuity between distance sensor input pin and connector of distance sensor (mounted in transaxle). If voltage existed and all wiring was good, replace speedometer.
