Rocker Assembly & Camshaft: Inspection

  1. Check cam lobes for wear or damage. If intake cam lobe height is less than 1.412" (35.86 mm) or exhaust cam lobe height is less than 1.414" (35.91 mm), replace camshaft.
  2. Check camshaft bearing journals for damage, wear or seizure. Replace camshaft as necessary. Check camshaft bearing surface for damage, wear or seizure. Replace cylinder head if bearings are worn excessively.
