Water Pump: Removal

  1. Drain cooling system and disconnect battery. Loosen crankshaft and A/C pulley bolts. Remove all drive belts. Remove crankshaft and A/C pulleys. Remove power steering pump and bracket. Remove lower radiator hose to pump. Ensure that number 1 piston is at TDC of compression stroke.
  2. Remove timing belt covers, timing belt, belt drive gears and tensioner as previously described. Remove pump mounting bolts noting length and position. Remove alternator brace. Remove pump from engine.
