Daytona, Dynasty, Lancer, LeBaron Convertible/Coupe, LeBaron GTS & New Yorker

These models are equipped with an electronically driven speedometer and odometer assemblies. The unit has the same appearance as a conventional speedometer but it eliminates the cable-driven mechanical system. The following is the testing procedure for the speedometer:

1. Remove speedometer from cluster.
2. With the ignition switch in the ON position, check for battery voltage across B+ and ground pins. See Fig 1 . Check continuity from distance sensor signal pin to connector at distance sensor. Test for faulty distance sensor.
3. If all these tests prove good, replace speedometer.
