With the ignition on, the navigator can be used to report on any of 9 different conditions, plus display time. An alpha-numeric vacuum fluorescent display with 2 rows of 10 characters each is used. This system uses pushbutton switches to select and enter information.
When side marker lights are on, display intensity can be controlled by adjusting panel dimmer rheostat.
The reported conditions include "RANGE" (distance fuel will permit you to travel), "ETA" (estimated time of arrival), "DEST" (distance to destination), "ECON" (instantaneous and trip average MPG readings), "FUEL" (remaining), "SPD" (average speed), "TRIP" (miles traveled), and "E/T" (elapsed time). "ETA" and "DEST" require a numeric input for a report back. The program buttons include "SET", "RESET" and "US/METRIC".
