The conventional instrument cluster incorporates magnetic-type gauges and tachometer. With ignition off, all gauges (and tachometer) will show a false reading. Readings are only accurate when ignition switch is in the "ON" position.

The rally instrument cluster used in some models includes a fuel gauge, tachometer, speedometer, voltmeter, temperature and oil gauge assembly.

On vehicles equipped with a turbocharged engine, instrument panel includes a turbocharger boost gauge and message center. Message center will indicate liftgate ajar, door ajar, low washer fluid and low fuel.

All RWD models use a voltage limiter. The fuel and temperature gauges operate on 5 volts, as supplied by voltage limiter. The Lancer and LeBaron GTS use a gauge alert module. This module emits a warning signal during high temperature or low voltage conditions.
